The official celebration was hosted by Debra Messing, an actress who advocates physical violence against Trump. Adding to the outrage, many Hollywood celebrities went on a rampage of ridicule and bashing of President Trump and his supporters as he left office.
Michael Moore, Billy Eichner, Lewis Black, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jeffrey Wright were among the elite overflowing with glee and, in some cases, hate-filled mockery of the outgoing President Trump.
Leading American documentary filmmaker, author and current affairs commentator, Michael Moore tweeted, “We are now entering the final 24 hours of madness. All of us have been dreaming, praying and working for this day.”
Comedian and producer Billy Eisner tweeted, “F Trump, F his whole Family, F those who choose to work with him, X all Trump voters.
British actor Sacha Baron Cohen renewed his push for more social media scrutiny of Trump on his final day in office. He said, “You guys think Trump is going to leave office soon? Think again. There will still be thousands of election lies and calls to fight Trump posts and videos on Facebook and the oil tube. He demanded, “Facebook and the oil tube permanently remove Trump from their platforms as of January 20!”
Comedian Lewis Black (R-Texas) asked lawmakers to impeach Trump while he was in office. He tweeted, “You lawmakers can’t meet tonight to impeach Trump, are you still moving the needle? You have to realize that Trump is not just a jerk, he has abused the power we the people have given him. Do we still have to rewrite the Constitution because of Trump? “
Black American actor Jeffrey White urged his fans to “wait” for the end of Trump’s final days in peace. He tweeted, “Just one more day of transparent political gamesmanship, disgusting and despicable behavior, incompetence and chaos. Wait a little longer. “
President Trump officially left office on Wednesday (Jan. 20) when Joe Biden was sworn in. Trump said he will not attend Biden’s swearing-in ceremony, Vice President Mike Pence (Mike Pence) said he will attend Biden’s inauguration ceremony.
