CDC says at least 120 cases of variant virus nationwide across 20 states

Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19) variant virus has become an unstable factor in the epidemic, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics, the United States has more than 120 confirmed cases of variant virus, across 20 states.

The CNN reported that the CDC released statistics on Monday local time that there are at least 122 cases of the variant virus in 20 states across the United States, 46 in Florida, 40 in California, 6 in Colorado, 5 in Minnesota, 4 in Indiana and New York, 4 in Connecticut, Maryland and Texas, and 1 each in Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

The CDC emphasizes that the above figures do not represent the exact situation of variant viruses across the United States, but rather the confirmed cases currently known and used for analysis. The CDC also cautioned that while there is a tendency for variant viruses to spread more easily, there is no evidence yet that they are more lethal or cause more severe symptoms.
