The spread of the Chinese Common Virus (COVID-19) outbreak has accelerated significantly in several northern Chinese provinces and cities recently. The cities of Tonghua and Gongzhuling in Jilin Province have declared city closures on Monday (18). On the same day, Jilin province has ranked first in the number of infections announced by Chinese provinces.
On Jan. 19, the Jilin Provincial health Commission reported that the province had 43 new confirmed local cases within 24 hours on Jan. 18, including 9 cases in Changchun and 34 cases in Tonghua, and 34 new “asymptomatic infections” in the province, including 10 cases in Changchun, 23 cases in Tonghua and 1 case in Songyuan.
According to statistics released by the Communist Party’s official epidemic prevention agency, within 24 hours on January 18, there were 106 new confirmed cases in mainland China, including 43 cases in Jilin, 35 in Hebei, 27 in Heilongjiang and 1 in Beijing. The data shows that Jilin province has now ranked first in the official announcement of the epidemic data.
The authenticity of the official data has been highly questioned by the outside world due to the ongoing serious cover-up of the epidemic by the Chinese Communist Party. Past media reports have shown that the number of infections officially announced by the Chinese Communist Party has long been significantly reduced from the true number of infections.
According to media reports, the city of Gongzhuling in Jilin has declared a city closure. The city of Tonghua in Jilin Province issued a notice on Monday announcing that the city would interrupt all public transportation from 23:00 on the 18th, implement a full closure of the city’s communities, villages and tunnels, and adjust the entire area of Dongchang District in the city to a medium-risk area. At this point, 14 districts in Tonghua have been classified as medium-risk areas for the outbreak.
The city of Tonghua Ms. Tan disclosed in an interview with the Epoch Times on the 18th that the epidemic is very serious in Tonghua and the residential area is blocked off so much that it is now not allowed to go out casually, even the property to clear the snow is not allowed, “this district to that district can not go to the building, similar to Wuhan at that time”. If an infected person is found in a building, the authorities will seal off the whole building.
Ms. Tan said, “The city buses have been closed for several days, the buses are all stopped, and all positions, not important ones (except gas and electricity) are not allowed to work.”
She said the plague is infecting very quickly, many people are infected, “the entire city of Tonghua 17 is more than 80 (people). 83 (people) is the official announcement, but exactly how many, the real number is unknown, the official announcement are not telling the truth, yesterday announced 83 (people) are confirmed.”
Ms. Tan also revealed that the local government asked school teachers to be “volunteers” for the epidemic, and some of them were infected. In a building not far from her own, a teacher came back at 2:00 in the middle of the night the night before and has been quarantined at home, and I heard that a child has also been infected. Again, she stressed, “The epidemic is very powerful, very serious, and spreading very fast.”
Mr. Zhang, who works in the logistics industry in Changchun, Jilin, also disclosed to the Epoch Times on the 18th that the local epidemic is quite tense. He said, “Today I heard that Gongzhuling are closed to the city, closed to the city will not be given to work, we sent the goods today are not sent in, the goods are not delivered.”
Mr. Zhang said that now all the districts in Changchun City have to use the health code and green code to enter the door, go out to do things have to wear a mask, the market to test the body temperature, trip code, security code are required, so that the people feel very nervous when they go out.
According to media reports, Gongzhuling City in Jilin Province upgraded eight neighborhoods to medium-risk areas on the 16th and the entire area of Fanjiatun Township on the 18th, all of which have taken very strict control measures.
In addition, a Chinese netizen revealed on online social media that officials in Jilin Province’s Songyuan City have so far announced that only five asymptomatic infected people have been found, but that local officials have sent a huge number of epidemic prevention personnel to participate in the prevention work, even using teachers.

A video posted by a netizen shows that the streets of Songyuan city are basically devoid of pedestrians, with only large teams of epidemic prevention personnel in protective suits moving through the streets. The netizens sighed that the situation is like a biochemical war.
