Breitbart reports that “Black Lives Matter” protesters occupy shutdown of Seattle highway .
A group of “Black Lives Matter” protesters occupied a highway in Seattle, Washington, on Monday. The group shut down traffic on the highway and forced police to respond.
The protest began Monday afternoon with a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial march. At some point, a group broke away and began occupying Interstate 5 freeway, Seattle Protest Network tweeted.
Another tweet from Seattle KTTH radio host Jason Rantz shows a large group of protesters marching down a surface street near the freeway. At one point, the camera panned to the freeway and saw police making arrests there.
As police approach the protesters on the freeway, several resist and then sit on the freeway.
The officers eventually moved the group to the center retaining wall to make the arrests. The move allowed some lanes to reopen on a limited basis.
Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson tweeted that they were making the arrests and expected the freeway to be clear soon.
