Beijing’s quarantine period for epidemic prevention increased to 28 days

The Beijing Municipal Government announced on January 15 that it has extended the quarantine period for people entering Beijing from 21 days to 28 days, and urged all citizens to stay in Beijing for the New Year and not leave the city unless necessary.

On January 15, Beijing announced that the quarantine measures for people entering Beijing would be upgraded again, adding 7 days to the original 21-day quarantine period. It also tightened control on rural gatherings and strengthened supervision of key places such as small clinics, small pharmacies and small dining tables.

Beijing authorities also called on all citizens to stay in Beijing for the New Year and not to leave the city unless necessary. The Chaobai River, which borders Beijing and Hebei, has recently been set up with protective nets and tents, with 24-hour guards to prevent people from entering Beijing without permission.

Officials of the Communist Party of China (CPC) informed on January 16, 2021 that two new confirmed cases were reported in Beijing between 00:00 and 24:00 on January 15, 2021, both in Shunyi District.

However, official figures on the outbreak are considered a “serious underestimate”, especially in the capital city of Beijing, which has been deliberately downplayed.

Previously, on the night of January 2, Ms. Li said that this wave of communist virus epidemic in Beijing is raging, and now there are seven areas in the whole city that are classified as medium-risk areas for the epidemic, mostly in Shunyi District, and the epidemic in Beijing’s Chaoyang District is also very strong.

Ms. Li said that now there are too many infected people and people are on edge, so officials are afraid to report it. At first, when a case was found, the detailed route of the diagnosed person was reported, but in the past two days, the relevant reports were not detailed.

According to another report, Beijing Xicheng District reported on the 12th that a confirmed case in Gu’an County, Langfang City, Hebei Province is an employee of a company in Xicheng District’s Zhuang Sheng Square, who has a recent history of living in Shijiazhuang. The female patient recently traveled to and from Beijing for work and took Beijing Metro Line 4 several times.
