A Swedish court on Friday rejected huawei‘s appeal over its exclusion from local 5G construction, paving the way for a 5G spectrum auction planned for next week.
Sweden’s Administrative Court of Appeal previously allowed the Swedish telecom regulator to resume the 5G spectrum auction and exclude Huawei from its 5G construction, a decision Huawei appealed last week.
But Sweden’s top administrative court said in a statement Thursday that the Administrative Court of Appeal’s ruling in a case involving electronic communications law was final, so the appeal should be rejected.
The Swedish government said last October that they would ban Huawei and ZTE from participating in the country’s 5G construction in light of security risks, and asked companies involved in the 5G auction to remove the two companies’ equipment from existing infrastructure and core functions by 2025.
