The recent spread of the epidemic in northeast China and northern China has led to several cities declaring emergency closures. Many freight drivers with Hebei license plates were trapped halfway on the highway after being stopped by quarantine officers, and even blocked directly in their cabs. The related news and videos have been circulated overseas and have drawn the attention of overseas media people.

On Wednesday (13), Jennifer Zeng (Zeng Zheng), a Chinese-American self-publisher, tweeted a video showing a truck driver being stopped on the highway by a group of quarantine officers wearing white protective clothing on a snowy day in mainland China. The quarantine officers used several paper seals to block the driver in his cab. The driver, who was wearing a white mask, sat dutifully in the driver’s seat and looked down as the quarantine officers put the seals on the doors.

Jennifer Zeng tweeted, “If you see quarantine workers working hard in a snowy day, that’s positive energy; if you ask what to eat or drink or how to go to the bathroom while sealed in the cab with five seals, that’s negative energy. #Somewhere in China, it’s not clear when and where.”

According to a frontline interview published by the Epoch Times on Wednesday, a large number of Hebei truck drivers with “Ji” license plates were stranded halfway across the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei after the city’s closure policy began on Jan. 6 of this year. Mr. Zheng, a truck driver from Xingtai, Hebei Province, gave an online interview to the Epoch Times reporter about his experience.

According to Mr. Zheng, early in the morning of January 6, he delivered a batch of tiles from Tianjin to a warehouse in Shijiazhuang, but was told by the receiving party that the city was closed and could not be unloaded, and that he could not return home himself.

After being forced to rely on bread and water in the cab for three days, Mr. Zheng unloaded the goods himself and then walked to a friend’s house to stay overnight. Unexpectedly, because of the closed management of residential communities, he lived in a friend’s house as a foreigner, and was questioned by the community every day. In order not to give friends trouble, he had to go back to the cab of the truck, relying on the bought instant noodles and snacks to feed the day.

Mr. Zheng said: “I do not want to (in the car) a day to stay, but now I can not get out, can only eat noodles, not in the car, in the car under the activity, which can not go. Oil and then burn a ten days eight days should not be a problem, other dare not say.”

Mr. Zheng revealed that there are many people like him who are trapped in Shijiazhuang and can only spend their days in the cab, and they don’t know how long they can last. He said that now not only Shijiazhuang, including Shaanxi, Shanxi or the northeast, are particularly rejected “Ji E” and “Ji A” license plate.

Mr. Qi, a freight driver from Hengshui, also told the Epoch Times that he and his father were transporting auto parts to Anshan, Liaoning province, on Jan. 5, and when they were refueling at the Tangshan service area, the staff saw that his license plate was “冀T” (closer to the epidemic area) and would not let them rest in the service area. They looked for several hotels in the area, but they were all thrown out, and finally the father and son had to sleep in the car for the night.
