The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has declassified a large number of classified documents related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs), which are now available for download from the Internet. For UFO fans around the world, this is obviously great news.
These unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) related to a large number of CIA documents, is a complete collection of “black vault” (Black Vault) on the site, currently a total of several hundred PDF files. (Click here to download)
The “Black Vault” is a private database created by John Greenewald Jr. to collect declassified documents.
Greenewald Jr. said the UAP files are documents he has requested the CIA to declassify over the years under the Freedom Of Information Act, and he has scanned each page into an electronic file by hand.
Greenwald Jr. told Motherboard that he spent many years trying to obtain the CIA’s declassified documents. He was in constant contact with the CIA, a process that was like pulling teeth, over and over again, before finally obtaining the documents.
“The Black Vault notes that the CIA claims that these are all the UAP documents in the agency’s possession, but is unable to confirm this claim at this time. Researchers at the repository will continue to investigate whether the CIA still holds documents that have not been made public.
Greenwald Jr. mentioned that the CIA uses a very old format (multi-page .tif files) to hold these documents, making it difficult to read and use them for any research purposes.
Greenwald Jr. added that the first Freedom of Information Act-based declassification of UFO information dates back to the 1970s and early 1980s. Since then, it has been very difficult to obtain such documents from the government.
There’s no question that society has a right to know,” he said. When I started my research some 25 years ago, at the age of 15, I knew the subject was loaded.”
The CIA documents released by the “Black Vault” include mysterious explosions and strange events such as contact with aliens. Greenwald Jr. believes that whether or not one believes in aliens, one should study these events as told directly by the CIA.
