China’s college graduates are under pressure to take up jobs with monthly salaries far below expectations – Only 3% of the 85% on the Internship Monk platform are still looking for jobs

Chinese college graduates in 2020 are not only under pressure to find jobs, but their actual monthly salaries are far below their expectations.

According to a report on the employability of college students in 2020 released by mainland China’s recruitment platform Internship Monk, while most graduates expect to earn between RMB 5,000 and 8,000 and RMB 8,000 and 10,000 during the recruitment stage, only 21.2 percent actually earn a monthly salary of RMB 5,000 to 8,000, and less than 10 percent earn a monthly salary of 8,000 or more, according to HK01. However, only 21.2% of them actually received a monthly salary of RMB 5,000 to 8,000, and less than 10% received a monthly salary of more than RMB 8,000.

The report also shows that by the end of 2020, 85% of college students on the Internship Monk platform are still continuously seeking jobs, and only 3% have been offered jobs.

Meanwhile, the new crown (CCP virus) epidemic has had an impact on graduates’ job search preferences, with more than 30% of students interviewed wanting to enter more stable careers such as state-owned enterprises and institutions; on the other side, more than 40% of students interviewed want to enter the online industry, with 67% of them wanting to enter faster-growing private companies such as Byte Jump.
